Nancy Guthrie: Sheriff Chris Nanos Shares Hopeful Update as Case Nears 100 Days
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, 84, is still missing three months after her abduction in Tucson, Ariz.-and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos gave a hopeful update as the investigation neared 100 days.
On Friday, May 8, Fox News Digital asked Nanos about the case, which still has no named suspect after Nancy went missing on Feb. 1.
"It's 100 days now, almost, sir," a reporter behind the camera pointed out. "Are you guys any closer to solving?"
To that, Nanos replied, "We are." As he nodded, the sheriff added that things were going "really great."
However, Nanos did not answer when asked if he had a message for the Guthrie family for Mother's Day, which is Sunday, May 10.

Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. Her family reported her missing the next day. Although the FBI released video clips and still images of a masked individual on Nancy's porch-not to mention that Savannah has offered a $1 million reward-no one has come forward with information leading to an arrest.
Recently, the FBI obtained DNA evidence, a hair sample, for processing. The PCSD County initially sent it to a private lab in Florida,but new technology could potentially crack the case. CeCe Moore, a genetic genealogist, told NewsNation's Brian Entin that extraction of snip profiles from rootless hairs is now possible.
"Now we just have to hope that it is the person or persons-one of the persons-who kidnapped Nancy," Moore said. "It's again, kind of a Hail Mary. Everything is getting to that point, I feel, because so much time has gone by. But you just never know."
Unfortunately, processing of the DNA evidence could still take months.
Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel and the PCSD have exchanged public blows about how well they have (or haven't) collaborated on Nancy's case.
