TikTok Darling's Touching Memoir Becomes Instant 'New York Times' No. 1 Bestseller
There are a few certainties in life. Death, taxes, and if you want to fall in love with something on the internet, there's probably a dog for that.
Which is why Isabel Klee of @simonsits is such a hit with social users. Isabel is a prominent dog foster parent, content creator, and author who works with Muddy Paws rescue in Brooklyn, New York. Isbael originally started sharing her foster work to "demystify" the process, as well as bring awareness to just how many dogs need help and are in shelters. Her videos became very beloved, especially on TikTok, and she became internet famous because of them.
Even though Isabel's social presence was already growing at the time, her account really skyrocketed when she fostered a little dog named Tiki in the summer of 2025. Rescued from a criminal neglect situation, Isabel documented Tiki's heartbreaking to heartwarming journey from being completely and utterly shut down, to learning how to just be a dog again.

Tiki's story touched millions, drawing in over 50 million views and an uncountable amount of comments from people checking in on the little dog's progress daily. After a little over a month with Isabel and her fiancé, Tiki was adopted into a family with two other dogs where his new mom updates about him regular and keeps reminding followers to "Be Brave like Tiki."

Dogs, Boys, and Other Things I've CriedAbout follow Isabel's journey in a coming-of-age book of essays detailing her experiences fostering different foster dogs and navigating what it means to be a human. The book intertwines stories of her foster dogs, like her own rescue (or foster fail, depending on how you look at it) Simon, with her personal journey of finding love, getting her heartbroken, and finding friendship and commonality in her twenties. The memoir is a relatable and honest look at young adulthood with plenty of furry friends in between.
The memoir was released on April 28, 2026. Shortly after, Isabel took to her socials to excitedly announce that she was an instant New York Times number one bestseller.
Dogs, Boys, and Other Things I've CriedAbout is out now wherever books are sold.
