Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun's Full Relationship Timeline

Scooter Braun was best known as the guy who discovered Justin Bieber on YouTube. He announced his retirement from music management in June 2024.

Now that Braun, 44, and Sweeney, 28, have finally hard-launched their relationship, Braun is best known as Sydney Sweeney’s boyfriend.

Earlier Friday, Sweeney posted an Instagram carousel from last weekend’s Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California.

The lead image shows the Emmy-nominated actress with Braun. There’s also classic photobooth flicks and even a video of Braun and Sweeney singing with Ashton Kutcher and Chase Rice.

The post signifies the most important relationship milestone in modern love: going Instagram official. Now, technically, Braun and Sweeney went Instagram official when Braun reposted a photo of them onto his Instagram Story, but everybody knows grid posting is different.

Braun and Sweeney first sparked romance rumors around Jeff Bezos’ wedding in Venice, Italy, last June.

June 2025: Braun and Sweeney spotted in Venice

As noted above, Braun and Sweeney met while attending Jeff Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sánchez Bezos last June. Merely attending didn’t spark rumors, but a video circulated on social media showing the two walking casually around Venice together.

Sept. 2, 2025: Reports emerge that they’re dating

On Sept. 2, 2025, Page Six reported that Braun became “obsessed” with Sweeney after Bezos’ wedding and was “pursuing” her while casually dating. Those same sources must have been chatting all about town because TMZ ran a similar report the same day.

“Sydney has just ended a relationship, and she’s doing what women in their 20s do,” an unnamed source told TMZ. “She’s dating.”

The following day, PEOPLE reported that Braun and Sweeney “spent Labor Day weekend together at Lake Tahoe.”

“They hung out in Italy for the Bezos wedding," Another unnamed insider told PEOPLE. "Syd was intrigued. Scooter’s a charmer. He’s confident, but also sweet and very attentive.” That insider added, “He’s not really her type, but she enjoyed the attention.”

Sept. 30, 2025:

Later that month, they were photographed holding hands at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. That part seems casual enough, but the fact that Braun and Sweeney were holding hands while walking alongside Sweeney’s parents? Not so casual.

Nov. 4 2025: Sweeney’s GQ cover

Sweeney graced the cover for GQ’s annual “Men of the Year” issue. In the accompanying cover story, Sweeney said, “I’m single.”

“I don't think I'm looking for a man right now,” Sweeney explained. “What I've learned this year is that I have a really, really amazing group of girlfriends and I am strong and independent and that I'm going to be okay. If love finds me, love finds me. I'm a hopeless romantic, so I hope love finds me, but I'm not the type of person that wants to go out all the time. And I do believe in true love and wanting to be with someone for the rest of my life.”

Nov. 5, 2025: Central Park PDA

Quite literally the next day, Sweeney was photographed making out with Braun while awkwardly seated on a rock in New York City’s Central Park. They were also photographed holding hands during the same outing, per Page Six.

Thanksgiving 2025: Home for the holidays

The Daily Mail published photos of Braun with Sweeney at her Florida mansion for Thanksgiving.

“The outing comes just one day after the couple was seen getting cozy during a pool day at the same property, where sources claimed their chemistry was unmistakable,” The Daily Mail’s Deirde Durkan-Simonds wrote. “Witnesses said the pair appeared inseparable, with Sweeney laughing and leaning into Braun as they splashed around with friends ahead of the holidays.”

January 2026: Sweeney addresses speculation

Sweeney racked up yet another magazine cover. This time, it was Cosmopolitan, and journalist Alexandra Whittaker included a noteworthy tidbit in the accompanying interview: “Sydney repeatedly pushes back on various dating rumors during our conversation.”

“Sometimes I’ll think I can do a normal thing and have a date in a normal way, and then it gets perceived in a very non-normal way,” Sweeney said. “It’s kind of sad.”

When Whittaker asked how Sweeney decides when to go public with a relationship, she referenced her seven-and-a-half-year relationship with her ex-fiancé, Jonathan Davino. They ended their engagement and split in early 2025.

“I never talked about it,” Sweeney told Whittaker. “I was very private. No one would ever see us. I think it's important to have some things for myself. I understand that I'm a public person, but I'm still in my 20s. I'm still figuring out love, and it's hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like. At the same time, for all of my 20s, I put my head down and focused on work - and now I want to experience things. But it's hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I’m just navigating it all.”

April 7, 2026: Kissing at ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 premiere

Braun and Sweeney attended the “Euphoria” premiere together in Los Angeles. Sweeney has starred as Cassie, her breakout role, since the HBO series aired its pilot on June 16, 2019. Braun and Sweeney shared a quick kiss in the theatre, as captured here.

April 15, 2026: Instagram official - sort of

Eddy Chen, a still photographer on “Euphoria” and “Anyone But You,” posted a behind-the-scenes Instagram carousel on April 14. It included a black-and-white photo of Braun and Sweeney, which Braun reposted to his Instagram Story, adding a white heart emoji and “Lucky bastard.”

April 24, 2026: Singing at Stagecoach

While Sweeney posted from Stagecoach retroactively, videos of her and Braun’s Stagecoach activity made the rounds in real time last weekend. For one, Braun and Sweeney were caught on video singing along to Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

May 1, 2026: The real hard-launch

Instagram Stories expire, but grid posts last forever. Sweeney must have decided that she’s comfortable with experiencing love in the public eye, as she served up a platter of loved-up photos and videos for all to see.
