Martha Stewart Raves About Evening With King Charles at NYC Gala

The queen of home decor and hosting, Martha Stewart,had a glamorous evening with a more official king on Wednesday night.

Taking to Instagram Thursday morning, Stewart shared a photo of her and King Charles during his stop in New York City, which was a part of his larger visit to the United States, along with Queen Camilla, that kicked off on Monday.

"Despite the myriad problems facing the world, and the rigors of demanding international travel, His Majesty was in excellent humor and form last evening in NYC at a Gala Dinner for the Kings trust international, his eponymous charity supporting young people and their entrepreneurial dreams," she wrote.

The gala, which took place at Manhattan's Christie's auction house celebrated The King's Trust, which according to the New York Times, is a charity that was founded by King Charles in 1976 "to expand opportunity for young people."

The event, which was a bit of a starry affair with celebrities like Iman, Anna Wintour, and Donatella Versace, and Lionel Richie, as attendees, along with Stewart, was complete with a red carpet.

As for specific interactions that Stewart had with Charles, the Times reported that she "complimented the king's gardening talents and remarked at their shared passion."

When asked by the news outlet if she considers herself American royalty, she said, "Oh, I would never presume."

Charles who spoke at the event, as part of his many speaking engagements during his U.S. visit, welcomed guests with a unifying message.

"It's a wonderful opportunity, if I may say so, apart from anything else, that at this reception we can celebrate both my King's Trust and the enduring cultural bond between the people of the United Kingdom and the United States," he said. "Which is of course a relationship rooted in shared creativity, enterprise and value, reminding us that we are truly greater together."



Also at the event was model Karlie Kloss, Stella McCartney, and Charlotte Tilbury.

Charles and Camilla's visit to the United States started in Washington D.C., where the two participated in events, including a state dinner, alongside President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. The royals then headed to New York where they went to the 9/11 Memorial and visited with children in Harlem.

Queen Camilla's reading initiative was also celebrated at her own event at the New York Public Library, where she was joined by literature-loving celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parkerand Jenna Bush Hager.

Back in Washington D.C. on Thursday, the royals laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery and received a formal farewell from Trump before departing back for the UK.
