Kate Middleton Turns Heads While Channeling Princess Diana in Similar Ensemble
Kate Middleton attended the Anzac Day commemorations at the Cenotaph on Whitehall, marking the anniversary of the 1915 Allied landings at Gallipoli in Turkey. The Princess of Wales was seen wearing a navy and white Givenchy dress coat for the solemn occasion, an ensemble that drew attention for its classic styling.
It didn't take long for some people to notice that Middleton's outfit was similar to one that her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, wore back in 1995. According to the Daily Mail, Diana wore a Catherine Walker blue suit with white details while presenting new colors to the Light Dragoon Guards Regiment in Bergen, Germany. As you can see in the side-by-side photos below, the looks are very similar.
Many royal watchers commented on the photos of the two women, published by the Daily Mail.
"Diana would have been so proud of Catherine," one person wrote.
"The princess looks amazing as usual. Blessings to her and her family," someone else added.
"Looks great," a third comment read.
Of course, this isn't the first time that Middleton's style has drawn comparisons to the late Princess Diana's. Both women have been known for their impeccable style and many royal watchers often take notice when Middleton appears to channel some of Diana's most memorable looks.
Middleton never got the chance to meet her mother-in-law as Diana died in a car accident in August 1997. Nevertheless, Diana has a special place in Middleton's heart. When Prince William proposed, he presented Middleton with a sapphire and diamond ring that belonged to his mom.
"It's the same ring and it's exactly the same size as when I tried it on. It's very special. What an honor to be able to wear it," Middleton said in a video taken at the Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, in April 2023, according to Today. "I never, sadly, got to meet her," Middleton continued, adding, "She'd be brilliant [with her grandchildren]. We miss her every day."
