This 'Daytime Emmy Winner' Finally Ends the Speculation Surrounding His Highly Anticipated 'General Hospital' Return

General Hospital fans have been waiting for news about when, or whether, Steve Burton would return as Jason Morgan. Now the Daytime Emmy winner has addressed the speculation himself.

Burton discussed the topic on his podcast, with co-star Bradford Anderson, titledThat's Awesome With Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson!

Burton said that while on tour, the questions he hears most are "When are you coming back" and "If I am coming back?" He then confirmed, "Yes, I am coming back to the show. I start in June, so I'll be back for sure."

One screen, Jason was written off after taking responsibility for the shooting of WSB (World Security Bureau) chief Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). During the confrontation, Ross attacked Britt Westborne (Kelly Thiebaud), leading to a struggle with Jason.

After witnessing the chaos, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) grabbed a gun and fired, saving Jason and Britt's life. To protect Rocco, Jason claimed responsibility and was arrested. He was later taken into WSB custody and sent to a facility in Europe.

In his podcast, Buton also admitted he does not regularly watch the show or know storylines when he is off-screen. "I had no idea [where he was], we always make this joke [on tour]. I go, ‘Hey, you guys can ask us questions. It's a Q&A, but we don't watch the show, so we don't know anything," he said."

He laughed that fans recently informed him Jason was in a jail, "I go, ‘I am again?'. I just found out I'm in a European jail, [because of the Q&A]," Burton joked, adding that he had wondered what happened after his final scene.

Because of General Hospital's filming schedule, Burton's June return to set likely means Jason could reappear on-screen a few weeks later.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
