'Storage Wars' Star Darrell Sheets: Police Investigating Cyberbullying Claims After His Death

Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets is dead at 67-and police are now investigating cyberbullying claims, as his A&E Network co-star, Rene Nezhoda, spoke out.

On Wednesday, April 22, TMZ was first to report the news of Sheet's death just before noon ET. Lake Havasu Police in Arizona told the outlet that the reality star died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In a statement shared with Entertainment Weekly, Sgt. Kyle Ridgway said, "The Lake Havasu City Police Department [of Arizona] is aware of the cyberbullying accusations, and it is a part of the current active investigation."

Similarly, the LHCPD told TMZ, "We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation."

News of police looking into the alleged cyberbullying came as Nezhoda posted a tribute on Instagram that also mentioned the online abuse.

"He had a guy like really, really tormenting him lately on cyberbullying," Nezhoda said in the clip. "Just because you watch us on television doesn't mean you know us. It doesn't mean you know what we're about. Also, it doesn't entitle you to bully somebody."

He continued, "Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that's been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope they look into that guy, and it's just not a pass, because it's just not right, guys... You never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through, and what you might push them through."

In the wake of Sheets' death, his co-star, Dan Dotson, and Brandi Pasante also posted tributes on social media.

Sheets appeared in Seasons 1–15 of Storages Wars before exiting in 2023.
