Tori Spelling Remembers Ex Patrick Muldoon as ‘One of a Kind' in Emotional Tribute
Tori Spelling broke her silence on the sudden death of her Beverly Hills, 90210 costar and ex-boyfriend Patrick Muldoon with a heartfelt and devastating Instagram post including candid photos from their relationship on April 21. The star admitted it "took her a couple days" to share her statement because she didn't want his death to "feel real."
"This shouldn't be real," she wrote in part, reflecting on meeting him via their hit TV show on a "blind date." "Like every other girl in the world I crushed on his character Austin from Days of Our Lives. Not sure I ever disclosed that to him." However, it was Muldoon's "beautiful soul" that made her fall in love with him in real life.

"He was special and one of a kind," she mused. "The kindest most caring human w/ raddest weird sense of humor. We got each other! Laughed a lot ! I laughed w/him and at him and he loved it. Was multi talented. Passionate about everything he did. And, he had a knack for making others smile & brought absolute joy to everyone that was blessed to be in his orbit. A true gift."
Spelling also shared some of her sweetest memories from her time with Muldoon, who was in a relationship wit producer Miriam Rothbart at the time of his death, reflecting on watching the Broncos, playing tag, and belting out songs from Grease together.
"I was Sandy to his Danny," she laughed, sharing a photo of them singing and dancing together on her 22nd birthday in 1995. "He was a huge part of my formative 20s," she added.
Though they broke up decades ago, Spelling said she and Muldoon still shared a special friendship, with him even supporting her through her 2024 divorce from Dean McDermott. "He would call and check on me and send me the worst jokes to make me laugh," she revealed.
Spelling said she last saw Muldoon in the summer of 2025, where she was lucky to meet his girlfriend. "He said we would get along & I instantly got it!" she said. "She was his perfect balance."
"I'm sorry to his family and the world for a beautiful light put out too soon," she concluded.

Inside Tori Spelling and Patrick Muldoon's Relationship
Muldoon and Spelling met on the set of 90210 in the 90s during his relationship with Denise Richards, and went on to date for an unknown amount of time. Both actresses hilariously confronted him about it when Richards called him during an episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, to which he said, "You know, T, I don't remember the 90s. I remember both of you, but outside of that…," he said.
Spelling was always tickled that the handsome actor was into her. "Like, a man stopped seeing Denise Richards for me. F---," she said. "I always wanted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - I'm fine with this."
Muldoon died suddenly on Sunday, April 19 as the result of a heart attack, per Deadline. He was just 57 years old.
