If you’re looking to see fireworks this fourth of July without all the hose-in-the-front-yard hassles of being safe and sane, there is no shortage of community events.

The Fresno Grizzlies celebrate the Fourth in true minor-league fashion: with an Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza that includes a hot-dog eating contest, the Chorizo Macaroni and Cheese Hot Dog (available at concessions for one-night only) and post-game fireworks over downtown.

There is a game, too. The team takes on the Tacoma Rainiers at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $9-$39.

Clovis Kiwanis hosts its annual Freedom Fest celebration. The event — historically held at Buchanan High School —moves to Clovis High School’s Lamonica Stadium this year. It will feature food and drinks, games and live entertainment before the firework show. Last year, more than 4,000 aerial effects were sent into the night sky. Gates open at 4 p.m., fireworks at dusk. Tickets are $5.

Below is a list of other Fourth of July events around the Valley. All phone numbers are 559 area code unless otherwise noted.
