‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ trailer promises more shrinking superhero action
It doesn’t have the cultural gravitas of “Black Panther” or the mega-hype of “Avengers: Infinity War.” But there’s a third movie coming from Marvel Studios in 2018, and it has a different kind of buzz. Like insect wings.
The first trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp” dropped Tuesday. It’s a sequel to 2015’s “Ant-Man,” which starred Paul Rudd as the shrinking/growing superhero. This time around, he’s joined by Evangeline Lilly, who fills the other half of the new movie’s title.
The trailer harkens to a teased plot point in the first film – the original Wasp was trapped in the “quantum realm.” She needs to be rescued.
Michael Douglas returns as Hank Pym, the inventor of the size-changing tech. And those who enjoyed Michael Peña’s head-turning role of Luis in the first film … well, he’s back, too.
As for the video, we’re confident we’ve never seen a weaponized Pez dispenser til now.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is scheduled for a July 6 release.
