Comedian Jo Koy returns to Fresno

Comedian Jo Koy returns to Saroyan Theatre on Jan. 19.

Tickets for the Break the Mold tour start at $41 and go on on sale at 2 p.m. Friday. The show starts at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Koy, whose real name is Joseph Glenn Herbert, last played the Saroyan in 2016. He also played Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville in June.

Koy’s popularity has grown from his humble beginnings in Las Vegas coffee houses to sold-out shows. This year, Koy set a record for the most tickets sold by a single artist at The Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu with 11 sold-out shows and over 23,000 tickets.

Koy has earned accolades for his two highly rated comedy specials on Comedy Central: “Don’t Make Him Angry” and “Lights Out.” In 2017, Koy released a third stand-up special, “Jo Koy: Live from Seattle” on Netflix.
