Latest Christian Pulisic Update Is Good News for US Soccer

Ahead of the United States‘ 2-0 win over Australia, head coach Mauricio Pochettino suggested Christian Pulisic would be healthy enough to play in the team’s final group stage game against Turkey.

“I think tonight, or the day before the game, we have a meeting with our medical area and we will assess the whole group, the players, and tomorrow we will communicate and see all the things that [we] can agree [on] tonight,” Pochettino said.

“He’s evolving. He’s much better from Friday. We’ll see. I think at the moment, if we see he’s not available for tomorrow, he will be available for the next game.”

Pulisic didn’t suit up in the win over Australia and hadn’t practiced with the full United States team since initially suffering his injury over a week and half ago.

Until now. On Monday afternoon reporters took to social media with the latest update revealing Pulisic was back on the field with his teammates, though no official world was given from United States soccer.

“Christian Pulisic is on the field to begin training with the USMNT on Monday for the first time since suffering his calf injury. Taking part in rondos now. No official word from U.S. Soccer,” reporter Tom Bogert said.

The final group stage game for the United States kicks off at 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 25.
