How much it will cost to see U.S. at World Cup knockout match in Bay Area

After impressive victories over Paraguay and Australia to open the World Cup, the United States men's national team has ignited a fever-pitch buzz across the country.

The Americans clinched Group D on Friday night when Paraguay beat Turkey, earning the U.S. a Round of 32 knockout match at Levi's Stadium on July 1.

Tickets were available on the secondary market Saturday for what will be one of the Stars & Stripes' most anticipated World Cup matches of all-time.

But they're not cheap.

Here were the get-in prices for a single ticket on Saturday morning, hours after the U.S. secured its spot in the match:

StubHub: $3,229

Ticketmaster: $3,570

Seatgeek: $3,137

Vivid Seats: $3,227

Keep in mind: This match is just the first of five knockout-round matches a team must win to hoist the World Cup trophy on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In the World Cup's previous format, the knockout round started with 16 teams.

The Americans made the knockout stage in the last World Cup held in the United States, losing to Brazil 1-0 in a Round of 16 game at Stanford on July 4, 1994.

The knockout match this time around is the equivalent of a second-round NCAA Tournament basketball game.

But a lot more pricey.
