Player of the year

Graham Schlicht, P, De La Salle, senior

Bay Area News Group player of the year broke the state record for consecutive scoreless innings at 62, including 49 this season. The Stanford commit ended the year with 83 strikeouts and a 0.39 ERA.

First team

Gabriel Felix, P, Valley Christian, senior

All-West Catholic Athletic League first-team selection recorded 87 strikeouts and had an earned run average of 0.95. Helped lead Valley Christian to CCS and NorCal Division I championships.

Hudson Flora, C, Foothill, senior

East Bay Athletic League Mountain Division player of the year hit .405 and knocked in 18 runs. Committed to UC Santa Barbara.

Colton Hadfield, IF/OF/P, Valley Christian, junior

UCLA commit hit .324 with 18 RBIs and 12 extra-base hits. Earned all-WCAL first-team honors.

Ben Hayden, IF, De La Salle, junior

All-EBAL Mountain Division first-team selection hit .479 with 24 RBIs.

Archer Horn, IF/P, St. Ignatius, senior

Stanford commit hit .406 with 17 RBIs and six home runs. Had 13 stolen bases and an OPS of 1.142.

Vincent Kim, C/IF/OF, Bellarmine, senior

All-WCAL first-team selection hit .423 with an OPS of 1.270. Led the league in home runs with seven and had 22 RBIs.

Brody Larocque, P, St. Francis, senior

Chapman University commit struck out 68 and had an ERA of 0.72 across 14 appearances. All-WCAL first-team honoree was 11-2 this season.

Braden Makley, P, Granada, junior

All-EBAL Mountain Division first-team selection had 97 strikeouts and ended the season with an ERA of 1.58. Allowed 17 earned runs across 14 starts and helped Granada reach the NCS Division I final.

Gavin McMillan, P, Monte Vista, senior

EBAL Valley Division pitcher of the year struck out 53 and allowed just four earned runs. Mississippi commit had an ERA of 0.44.

Kyle McMillan, P/IF, St. Francis, junior

WCAL pitcher of the year ended the year finished with 80 strikeouts, an ERA of 0.75 and a 11-0 record across 14 starts. Hit .304 with nine RBIs.

Josiah Morris, C/IF, Clayton Valley Charter, senior

Oklahoma State commit hit .400 with 21 RBIs and six home runs. Morris earned all-Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division MVP honors.

Akanni Owodunni, C, Berkeley, senior

University of San Diego commit had a batting average of .437 and hit 10 home runs with 34 RBIs. Was named West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division player of the year.

Jack Rudd, C, Willow Glen, senior

Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division player of the year hit .488 and knocked in 28 runs. Led Willow Glen to a 23-3-1 record and an undefeated league title.

Brady Simon, Los Gatos, senior

SCVAL De Anza player of the year led Los Gatos’ regulars with a 1.387 OPS. Finished with a .441 batting average, drove in 30 runs and hit six homers, including a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to beat Bellarmine in an epic CCS playoff game.

Carson Williams, P/IF, San Ramon Valley, senior

Williams slashed .403/.494/.507 en route to earning all-EBAL first-team honors. Led SRV to an NCS Division I playoff appearance.

Ethan Williams, P, Los Gatos, senior

Finished with 121 strikeouts, allowed just eight earned runs and had a 0.82 ERA across 13 appearances. Had a record of 12-0.

Second team

Sebastian Alvarez, P, College Park, senior

USF commit compiled 68 strikeouts and had an ERA of 1.34. Won DAL Foothill Division pitcher of the year.

Jack Badger, IF, Granada, senior

EBAL Mountain Division first-team selection was one of the best defensive infielders in the East Bay. Hit .299 with 11 RBIs and eight extra-base hits.

Blake Benner, P/OF, Clayton Valley Charter, senior

DAL Foothill Division first-team selection recorded 70 strikeouts and had an ERA of 1.46. Helped lead Clayton Valley to a league title and a 24-5 record.

Chayce Formosa, OF, Liberty, junior

Cal commit hit .383 with 24 RBIs and six home runs. The Bay Valley Athletic League MVP had an OPS of 1.171.

Chase Frolich, IF, Los Gatos, junior

Hit .409 with 49 RBIs and 15 extra-base hits. Had a 1.086 OPS. His grand slam in bottom of the seventh sent CCS playoff game against Bellarmine to extra innings. Los Gatos won in eight innings.

Austin Grove, OF, De La Salle, senior

Finished with a perfect fielding percentage on the year. Hit .348 with 10 RBIs en route to earning all-EBAL first-team honors.

Seddrick Henderson, P, Berkeley, senior

UCLA commit struck out 58 and had an ERA of 1.29. Earned all-WACC Foothill Division first-team honors.

Nate Hui, IF/P, Serra, senior

Pomona College commit hit .341 with 12 RBIs and 13 extra-base hits. Earned all-WCAL first-team honors.

Kelen Johnson, IF/P, Archbishop Mitty, junior

Johnson won the WCAL batting title with a .435 average. Earned all-league first-team honors after helping lead Mitty to a CCS Division II title.

Alex Kim, P, Valley Christian, senior

Was Valley Christian’s closer during its five consecutive shutouts to end the season, which included wins in the CCS and NorCal Division I finals. Had a 0.00 ERA in 8 1/3 innings during the postseason. Overall, he went 7-1 with a 2.15 ERA.

Kai Kung, P/OF, Half Moon Bay, senior

Had a CCS-leading 121 strikeouts and finished with a 0.59 ERA across 95 ⅓ innings. Led HMB to a CCS Division V and NorCal Division IV titles.

Shane Malloy, OF, Northgate, senior

DAL Valley Division player of the year led Northgate to an NCS Division II crown. Hit .451 with 17 RBIs and an OPS of 1.103.

Nate Plata, C/IF, The King's Academy, senior

Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division MVP had 18 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits. UC Davis commit slashed .432/.551/.743.

Tanner Wall, IF/OF, St. Francis, senior

All-WCAL first-team selection hit .342 with 27 RBIs and three home runs. Committed to play at Pepperdine.

Dimitri Williams, P, Bishop O'Dowd, senior

WACC Foothill Division pitcher of the year had 71 strikeouts and a 1.24 ERA. Committed to play at BYU.

Chuck Wynn, C, Menlo School, senior

Smashed 10 home runs with a batting average of .405 and an OPS of 1.420. Led Menlo to a CCS Division III title and a berth in the NorCal Division III final.
