Devin Booker Changing Jersey Number Before 2026-27 NBA Season: Report
Devin Booker has rocked the No. 1 jersey for the Phoenix Suns ever since he entered the league as the team’s No. 13 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Before that, he wore the same No. 1 jersey in his one-and-done collegiate season with the Kentucky Wildcats.
But ahead of his 12th NBA season in 2026-27, the All-Star guard is making a significant change.
Booker will wear the No. 15 jersey moving forward, honoring his father, Melvin, who wore that number through his four-year collegiate career with the Missouri Tigers. No. 15 is also Booker’s Team USA jersey number - which he wore as he helped the United States claim an Olympic gold medal at the Paris Games in the summer of 2024.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported Booker’s jersey number change on Wednesday.
“Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is changing his jersey from No. 1 to No. 15, honoring his USA Basketball uniform and the college number of his father, Melvin, per ESPN sources,” Charania reported.

Booker notched his fifth All-Star selection in 2025-26, averaging 26.1 points per game through 64 regular-season appearances for the Suns. Phoenix snuck into the playoffs as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, but suffered a first-round series sweep at the hands of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder.
