Caitlin Clark Loses Exclusive Spot in WNBA History as Olivia Miles Joins Rare Club
Caitlin Clark's place in the WNBA record books isn't going anywhere. But one of her most exclusive accomplishments now has company.
Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles delivered another impressive performance Monday night, helping lead her team to a dominant 111-77 victory over the Phoenix Mercury while accomplishing something only one other rookie in WNBA history had previously done.
Miles finished the game with 19 points, nine assists and three steals while shooting 7-of-9 from the field.
According to Real App, that stat line officially places the former TCU star alongside Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark as the only rookies in WNBA history to record at least 19 points, nine assists and three steals in a game.
For a player who entered the league with significant expectations, it was another reminder of just how quickly Miles is becoming one of the WNBA's brightest young stars.

Olivia Miles Continues Remarkable Rookie Campaign
The No. 2 overall pick has wasted little time proving she belongs.
Through her first nine games, Miles is averaging 15.8 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game while helping Minnesota climb to the top of the Western Conference standings.
Her latest performance showcased exactly why so many evaluators viewed her as one of the most complete prospects in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
Miles controlled the game as both a scorer and facilitator against Phoenix, finishing one assist shy of a double-double while committing just four turnovers despite handling the ball throughout the contest.
The outing also continued several impressive trends.
She has now recorded at least five assists in five consecutive games and has scored at least 13 points in every game this season.
With Napheesa Collier still working her way back from offseason ankle surgery, Miles has helped shoulder much of Minnesota's offensive responsibility.
Caitlin Clark Set The Standard For Rookie Playmakers
The achievement also serves as another reminder of the remarkable rookie season Clark delivered in 2024.
After being selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever, Clark immediately transformed both her franchise and the league. She went on to win WNBA Rookie of the Year, earn All-WNBA First Team honors and break numerous league records, including the WNBA single-season assists record.
Clark's ability to score, create for teammates and impact games defensively made her one of the most productive rookies in league history.
Now Miles has joined her in one of the league's most exclusive statistical clubs.
While the two players have very different styles, both entered the WNBA with elite playmaking reputations and immediately found ways to influence winning.
The Future Of The WNBA Is Already Here
For years, Clark represented the next generation of WNBA stars. Now she is watching another wave arrive.
Miles, Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers and several other young players have helped inject even more talent into a league that continues to experience unprecedented growth.
Joining Clark on a list that previously belonged to her alone may seem like a small footnote, but it highlights just how special Miles' start has been.
The exclusive club now has two members. And based on what Miles has shown through nine games, she may be adding her name to plenty more alongside Clark before long.
