Patrick Mahomes' Had Incredible Response To Travis Kelce Purchasing Stake In Guardians

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have enjoyed tons of success together and are great friends. But that doesn't mean they're above ribbing each other every now and then.

On Wednesday, Kelce announced that he is buying a minority stake in the Cleveland Guardians, his hometown MLB team.

"I have so much love for this city… I credit every good thing in my life to Cleveland," Kelce told ESPN.

But Kelce's quarterback had a different reaction. He took to X this morning and congratulated Kelce... by showing off that infamous video of him completely whiffing on a first pitch at a Guardians game.

"Congrats! @tkelce," he wrote, sharing a video of his botched first pitch.

Classic

Some Chiefs and Guardians fans got a real hoot out of Mahomes' response.

"Bullpen is gassed after the last few games. I would never say never," Andrew Siciliano joked.

"Haha, classic Kelce! From tight end to wild pitch specialist Congrats on the stake, Trav just maybe stick to football (and let Mahomes handle the arm talent) Love this bromance," wrote another.

Others decided to deride Mahomes for throwing stones from a glass house:

"That's rich coming from a guy who does this and makes a living from throwing a ball," a third wrote, sharing a video of Mahomes' own wild pitch at a Texas Rangers game from 2025.

"First-rate troll. Now the real question. How much of Taylor's money is he using?" wrote another.

2025 was a real down year for the Chiefs. Kelce's decline continued despite putting up top tight end numbers, while Mahomes had one of the worst years of his own stellar NFL career and ended the season on injured reserve.

While the team has dismissed concerns that Mahomes may not be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season, time is ticking for Mahomes to get back to full strength.

As for Kelce, while he hasn't officially stated that 2026 will be his last year with the team, it's been looking that way for a while.
