It's Difficult to Find Much Wrong With the Rams Ahead of 2026

The Los Angeles Rams are Super Bowl favorites next season, and that’s for good reason.

This team has the league’s reigning MVP in quarterback in Matthew Stafford, and head coach Sean McVay simply knows how to win.

McVay is actually the franchise’s winningest head coach, as he heads into his 10th season with the team. So, yes, McVay knows how to bring talent together, and that makes it difficult to find anything wrong with the Rams’ roster going into the new season.

But there’s small room for improvement. In a piece about each NFL team’s biggest weakness at this point in the season, Christian D’Andrea of USA Today’s For the Win says the Rams could improve on “gap-penetrating run stuffers.”

“Look, the Rams don’t have many weaknesses — they’re favored to win Super Bowl 61 for a reason,” D’Andrea stated. “But one issue was in the run game, where an 11.9 percent run stuff rate was second-lowest in the NFL. With only 66 tackles for loss (24th-best) there’s room for improvement along a front where Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske are asked to do a little more as pass rushers than other hand-in-the-dirt linemen.

“Poona Ford remains one of the league’s under-appreciated gems, but finding someone who can consistently turn first down into second-and-long would be another jewel in Los Angeles’ crown.”

My Analysis: What the Rams Need in 2026

If it’s not broken, there’s no need to fix it, and that’s certainly the case with the Los Angeles Rams’ lineup this season. But there’s always something that can be done.

The one area of opportunity that I see for the Rams is improving their depth across the board. The team has a brutal start to the season, with a Week 1 Thursday night game against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.

That’ll be a big test for them, and in those following games, it’ll give the team peace of mind to know that their depth is there to back them up.
