Michael Irvin Scolds NFL Fans Over The Mike Vrabel Scandal

Michael Irvin is no stranger to off-the-field controversy.

The Dallas Cowboys legend ran into several off-the-field issues during his Hall of Fame career. Irvin, who won three Super Bowls, has faced some issues in retirement, as well. But Irvin remains a big part of the NFL media world.

This week, Irvin appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show. He discussed a number of topics, including Jerry Jones, Bill Belichick, the Cowboys, the Patriots and, of course, the Mike Vrabel scandal.

Vrabel has been involved in an off-the-field scandal with former NFL insider Dianna Russini. The two had a personal relationship. Several photos and videos of their private outings have leaked online. Both Vrabel and Russini have been torn apart by the media.

Irvin, though, has a problem with how NFL fans and the NFL media have reacted to the scandal.

He believes everyone has secrets.

"We all want to jump in personal lives," Irvin told Helwani. "Dude, if I just get a peek at your history, I'm sure it'll tell me something. We all forget that we have done (expletive) when we're talking about somebody else, and then we want to castrate and kill them."

Irvin has major problem with the ongoing scrutiny

Irvin continued.

"Life happens," Irvin continued. "We're trying to use people in football to be the measuring stick for all the righteousness. And then we act like, ‘I can't believe this person did this.' It's a person, and people do things. Sometimes it's not right, but we're not in their homes. We don't know what they're dealing with. And we wanna sit here and say, ‘Man, they shouldn't do this.' You don't know what they're dealing with. Get out of it. Leave it alone. It's not your business."

Irvin isn't wrong that everyone has probably done things they regret. But, that doesn't mean you don't have to face the music when it happens.

Vrabel hasn't lost his job. He's just facing questions and scrutiny. That seems pretty fair at this point.
