Padres minors: Braedon Karpathios walks off San Antonio win, Ty Adcock starts rehab

Braedon Karpathios picked a heck of a time for his first home run.

The Padres' outfield prospect walked off Double-A San Antonio's 3-2 win over Midland on Saturday with a home run to center field.

The blast was the only hit of the game for Karpathios, who is hitting .206/.284/.318 while struggling to start the year in the Texas League.

Karpathios hit .225/.295/.425 while finishing the 2025 season with the Missions. He then hit .211/.333/.298 in the Arizona Fall League.

Karpathios is ranked No. 10 in the Padres system by MLB.com.

Designated hitter Ethan Salas (.946 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Left fielder Tirso Ornelas (.778 OPS) doubled in San Antonio's other two runs.

Right-hander Eric Yost (3.21 ERA) struck out six over six innings of two-run ball in the start.

San Antonio is 10-22.

Tacoma 6, Chihuahuas 3: 3B Clay Dungan (.706 OPS) drove in three runs on his fourth homer. RF Samad Taylor (.965 OPS) went 3-for-4 and stole his sixth base. LHP Jackson Wolf (1-3, 5.59 ERA) struck out nine but allowed five runs in five innings. LHP Kyle Hart (9.00 ERA) allowed a run in one inning in his return to El Paso.

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (16-16)

TinCaps 3, Beloit 1: RHP Clay Edmondson (0.63 ERA) struck out all four batters he faced for his seventh save. CF Kasen Wells (.686 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and his eighth steal. C Lamar King Jr. (.807 OPS) went 3-for-4 and swiped two bases, giving him eight steals on the season.

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (19-13)

Storm 8, Inland Empire 6: RHP Tyler Schmitt (2-2, 5.09 ERA) struck out five while allowing just one hit over six shutout innings. He walked three. LF Conner Westenburg (.894 OPS) went 3-for-4, hit his first homer, doubled and drove in three runs. SS Jose Verdugo (.643 OPS) hit his first homer. CF Ryan Wideman (.920 OPS) went 1-for-5 with a triple and a run scored.

ROOKIE ACL PADRES (3-3)

Mariners 3, Padres 1 (7): RHP Ty Adcock (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with an unearned run allowed in one inning in the start. He struck one and allowed one hit. LF Eduarlin Tejeda (.733 OPS) went 3-for-3 with a run scored. C Ty Harvey (.829 OPS) went 0-for-2 with a walk.
