Rams Could Go All-In With Massive Trade Move: Report
When the Los Angeles Rams used their No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select quarterback of the future Ty Simpson, it appeared as if L.A. was punting on the idea to go all-in on moves to bolster their roster for the upcoming campaign.
But that might have been the biggest clue they were thinking bigger than simply grabbing a rookie wide receiver or defensive end to help the Rams possibly compete for their second ring of the decade.
Per Rams beat reporter for The Athletic, Nate Atkins, Los Angeles might be reverting back to their old ways of offering up future first-round picks to strengthen their roster in the middle of the season if they feel like they need it.
One of the main reasons it’s believed the Rams took Simpson in the most recent draft is so that they don’t have to worry about picking their heir to reigning MVP Matthew Stafford in future drafts, which allows them to be more aggressive with the picks they do have.

One name Atkins brought up that might interest the Rams is Las Vegas Raiders superstar EDGE rusher Maxx Crosby, who was traded to the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the offseason before the trade was voided due to the Raiders failing his physical with his proposed new franchise.
Crosby would turn what already looks like a stellar Rams defense into something possibly comparable to the Seattle Seahawks or Houston Texans, the two defenses considered the best in football today.
Although the 2026 NFL Draft made it look like the Rams are only planning for the future, don’t be fooled.
General manager Les Snead has made it a trait to burn draft capital for proven star talent, and after it brought them one Lombardi Trophy in 2021, don’t be surprised if he tries to pull off the sequel in 2026.
