SF Giants' Wednesday night game vs. Phillies postponed, split doubleheader scheduled for Thursday
PHILADELPHIA - The Giants’ Wednesday night game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed due to inclement weather, and both teams will play a split doubleheader on Thursday.
Game 1 will start at 9:35 a.m. PT (originally 10:05 a.m. PT), while Game 2 (the rescheduled game from tonight) will start at 2:35 p.m. PT.
Right-hander Logan Webb (2-3, 4.86 ERA) will start Game 1, but the Giants have not announced their Game 2 starter.
Webb was slated to face left-hander Cristopher Sánchez (2-2, 2.94 ERA) on Wednesday, while right-hander Adrian Houser (0-3, 7.36 ERA) was scheduled to face rookie righty Andrew Painter (1-2, 5.25 ERA) on Thursday.
The postponement will likely impact the Giants’ pitching plans for May 4 at home against the San Diego Padres. Webb would’ve been lined up to start that game, but now he’ll be pushed back at least a day.
This will be San Francisco’s first doubleheader since July 27, 2024, which was a scheduled single-admission doubleheader. The Giants won both games against the Colorado Rockies.
