Carson Beck's High School GPA Leaks During NFL Draft

Miami quarterback Carson Beck

Despite not hearing his name called on Day 1 of the NFL Draft, Beck is still considered an intriguing quarterback prospect. After having a great run at Georgia from 2020-2024, he transferred to Miami and helped the program reach the national title game. The experienced signal-caller completed 72.4% of his pass attempts during the 2025 season for 3,813 yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

"Mechanically, Beck has a fairly clean motion with the ability to get the ball out quickly and on time," his scouting report states, via ESPN. "His delivery is consistent and does not change much as he throws to different levels of the field. He has the arm strength and accuracy to complete short, intermediate and deep throws. Beck does a good job processing his reads and not panicking when having to come back to his checkdown option. His processing drops slightly when under pressure, which can lead to unwarranted and errant throws."

Prior to the national championship between Indiana and Miami, reporters asked Beck if he was attending classes. His response stirred up quite the debate.

"No class. I graduated two years ago," Beck said. "Obviously, I'm not enrolling again next semester. I'll be done after this season."

Neither Georgia nor Miami ever shared Beck's GPA with the public. That being said, he excelled in the classroom while in high school.

Beck had a 3.8 GPA at Mandarin High School, according to the National Scouting Report.

Concerns about Beck's character.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported Tuesday that NFL teams view Beck as a "bit of a loner." Apparently, certain teams won't go near him in the draft due to his personality.

"He's talented enough, smooth, on time, sees it well, he's smart - probably the smartest kid in the class," an NFC coach told Breer. "But the personality is tough. I wouldn't touch him."

The Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers have all been mentioned as options for Beck. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
