Bob Tebow, Father Of College Football Legend Tim Tebow, Has Died
Bob Tebow, the father of legendary Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, has sadly died at the age of 78.
Tebow, a two-time BCS national champion and Heisman Trophy winner, confirmed his father's death on Friday morning by posting a heartfelt message on social media.
"Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home. Many will say sorry for your loss but the truth is he's not lost, we know exactly where he is," Tebow wrote. "He's home. Forever! I asked him last week what he looked forward to most about Heaven, and he simply said, 'Jesus.'
"He couldn't wait to see Jesus face to face. Praise God that his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. He's healed and whole now. So we don't mourn as those with no hope. See you soon Dad."
Tebow's heartfelt social media post included several photos of his father, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2016.
"You never know how much time you have on earth," Tebow said after his father's diagnosis. "But my father has an incredible legacy that has nothing to do with me. I'm so proud of him."
Fans sending love to Tim Tebow.
Even though Tebow said he doesn't want people to feel sorry for him and his family, he received plenty of support online this Friday.
"Sorry that your time here with him is over. I'm sure the blessings God sent you through him will be cherished forever," one person said.
"The beautiful blessing of knowing he is with Jesus...powerful! May God's peace cover your family," a second person commented.
"The heavens are roaring as they welcome in Mr. Tebow," another person wrote. "A life spent serving the Lord and caring for His people. An incredible legacy."
