Orange Lutheran softball player Morgan Fitzpatrick has appealed the CIF Southern Section’s denial of her eligibility this season to the CIF State, Lancers athletic director Karen Kekipi confirmed Wednesday.
In late March, the Southern Section ruled Fitzpatrick ineligible “until August 18, 2026” following her transfer from Los Alamitos. Fitzpatrick is a senior infielder who signed with Notre Dame.
Last season, she earned second-team All-Sunset League honors for Los Alamitos, which won the CIF-SS Division 2 title.
Kekipi stated that Fitzpatrick’s appeal, which was made by her family, is scheduled for a hearing today. A decision is expected in 15 business days, she added.
Orange Lutheran is ranked No. 2 in Orange County and leads the Trinity League with a 3-0 record. The section playoffs begin May 14-15.
