National Night Out is Tuesday
Neighborhoods throughout the city are invited to join the Fresno Police and Neighborhood Watch in celebrating the 33rd Annual National Night Out on Tuesday.
National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety and neighborhood unity. We ask the community to turn on their lights, lock their doors and visit with neighbors. It’s a great night to barbecue or have dessert with your neighbors.
“This is a night for America to stand together and provide awareness,” says national project coordinator Matt Peskin. “When law enforcement and the community come together, some amazing things can happen.”
There will be organized events at Inspiration Park, El Dorado Park-Wesley United Methodist Church, Stoney Brook Apartments and Manchester Center. Refreshments, crime prevention handouts, and visits with police officers will be provided. Manchester Center also will have a classic car show, raffles and a kid’s zone.
We ask you to join us at any of these events.
Roselyn Clark, president Fresno Police and Neighborhood Watch Association
