‘Two Ton’ Trump is a thug

In the late 1930s, the No. 1 contender to Joe Louis’ heavyweight title was “Two Ton” Tony Galento. Before his title fight, he taunted the champ with sexual remarks about his wife. Mr. Galento opined, “I’ll moider da bum.” He was KO’d by the champ. Mr. Galento put down his losing to Mr. Louis to “not fouling him enough.”

But it was his next fight with West Coast contender Lou Nova in September of 1939 that cemented Mr. Galento’s reputation as one of the dirtiest fighters in all of boxing. Ring Magazine called it: “One of the most disgraceful fights staged since the days of the barroom brawls.”

Mr. Galento was a crude mauler with a disregard for the Marquess of Queensberry rules and who gleefully resorted to gouging eyes, rabbit punching, laces to the face, and headbutting; his preferred body punch was below the waist. The 14th-round TKO win for Mr. Galento, was a gory foul-fest. Mr. Nova was so badly battered after repeated fouls and five knockdowns that he spent months in the hospital, almost losing an eye.

Today, Tony Galento lives in Donald Trump. Trump is nothing more than a Caligulan thug and con man with an “R” after his name.
