We’re not yet green enough
Banning all plastic bags in California was a good start but it is time to go greener.
That means going back to recycled paper straws. All to-go containers should be recycled paper, not plastic foam. There should be recycled water bottles bins everywhere – drop in your used bottle, and it gets recycled. Used water bottles are the No. 1 one pollutant on Earth, both land and oceans.
If you know someone who doesn’t want to recycle, offer to do it for them. Just help, and suggest to your favorite eatery go with recycled paper containers. For all restaurants that use chopsticks, encourage them to use bamboo instead of the wooden ones that can splinter and are not made from recycled wood.
We need to help now to ensure that our children will have a better and healthier future.
