Washington Post’s Robert Costa to talk at Fresno State lecture series

Washington Post national political reporter Robert Costa will offer insight into the Donald Trump presidency during an Oct. 16 talk at Save Mart Center.

Costa, who also moderates PBS’ “Washington Week,” will tackle the topic “Inside Trump’s Washington: The Rise and Stall of an Outsider President” as part of the President’s Lecture Series at Fresno State.

He has regularly interviewed Trump since 2013, often focusing on the battle for power within the GOP and the evolution of the Republican Party.

Costa also is a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. He previously served as the National Review’s Washington editor and a CNBC political analyst and was a fellow at The Wall Street Journal.

The lecture series features guests invited by Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro.

Thomas L. Friedman, a New York Times foreign affairs columnist and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, spoke in April; presidential historian and Pulitzer winner Doris Kearns Goodwin in October 2016; and New York Times political and cultural columnist David Brooks in May 2016.

Costa’s talk in a series co-sponsored by The Fresno Bee, Valley PBS, and KSEE 24 will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
