Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will make an appearance in Fresno on Saturday or Sunday, a party organizer said Tuesday night.
The date and location of Clinton’s visit still are being arranged, said Doug Kessler, a regional director for the California Democratic Party. But Clinton’s visit would bring the last remaining major party presidential candidate to Fresno just ahead of California’s primary election Tuesday.
Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, made a campaign stop on her behalf at Fresno State on May 23. Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump held a rally May 27 at Selland Arena in downtown Fresno. And Sen. Bernie Sanders, challenging Clinton for the Democratic nomination, stopped at the Fresno Fairgrounds Sunday night as part of a Valley swing that also took him to Visalia.
Clinton is just 70 delegates short of what she needs to secure the nomination. California is one of six states holding primaries that day.
