Carter Williams has been a fighter ever since she was born. At birth, Carter was diagnosed with a heart defect and had to have open heart surgery at Valley Children’s Hospital, but her condition hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her dreams. She’s an Academic All-Star.
Tiaa Bland isn’t one to rest on her laurels. The 13-year-old maintains good grades at West Fresno Middle School and helps mentor younger students as a member of WEB, which stands for Where Everybody Belongs. Her leadership and academic interests have made her an Academic All-Star.
Raphael Bryant, an eighth-grader at Computech Middle School in Fresno, has an evident passion for all things to do with acting and drama. He’s been doing forensics for the past two years and acting in plays since fifth grade. He has been honored for academic achievement, and is the eighth-grade Academic All-Star.
