Fresno State professor gets award for writing, activism
Randa Jarrar, a Fresno State assistant professor of English and published novelist, received the 2014 Lannan Residency Program fellowship award, which is given for excellence in poetry writing, essays and scholarly articles as well as social justice activism.
Jarrar is the author of the novel “A Map of Home” and of the forthcoming collection of stories, “Him, Me, Muhammad Ali.”
Her work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Oxford American and others.
