Madera police investigate fatal shooting in park

A 28-year-old man was shot to death Monday night in Madera, police reported.

Sgt. Johnnie Smith said officers went to McNally Park in the 800 block of A Street about 9 p.m., where they found Jose Pacheco Ordaz in the front seat of his car. He had been hit by multiple gunshots and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Police believe at least two suspects approached the car on foot after an altercation.
