Porterville police are warning owners of Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon vehicles to guard their third-row seats from thieves.

Saturday and Sunday, police investigated three break-ins where the third-row seats were stolen while the vehicles were parked in different lots in the city.

Police don’t know who is to blame, but the thefts seem to be part of a trend. Third-row seats have a resale value of nearly $1,000 each, a statement said.

We want to ensure that the owners of Chevy Tahoes or GMC Yukons having third-row seats are aware of the current trend and ask that they remain vigilant.

Anyone with information regarding these thefts is urged to contact Detective Brett Calloway at 559-782-7418.
