Fresno bicyclist stabbed to death over the weekend is identified

Fresno police are searching for a man they say stabbed a bicyclist to death last weekend at a central Fresno bus stop.

Sgt. Mark Hudson said that Martin Holt, 36, of Fresno, was riding his mountain bike north on Blackstone Avenue toward Belmont Avenue around 10 a.m. on May 14. The assailant attacked Holt as he attempted to ride past, knocking him off his bike. The suspect then stabbed Holt several times while he was down on the pavement.

Hudson said Holt walked south before collapsing from his injuries. He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin to medium build. He had dark hair and facial hair. He was wearing dark colored pants, no shirt and white tennis shoes. He was last seen walking towards Belmont and Abby Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.
