15-year-old boy gunned down in southwest Fresno
Fresno police asked for help in the investigation of the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy Tuesday night in southwest Fresno.
The incident took place just after 10 p.m. at the corner of Lorena Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The Coroner’s Office Wednesday afternoon released the name of the boy. He was Marreek Phelps, 15, of Fresno. He just had a birthday on April 17th.
Police Lt. Burke Farrah of the Street Violence Section said officers located Phelps, who was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.
