Two men in Madera hit by gunfire

Two men were wounded by gunfire Sunday in Madera, police reported.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of Bernardi Avenue after residents reported hearing gunshots. They found two men had been wounded.

One man was driven to a hospital by family members and the second taken by ambulance. Both underwent surgery.

Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious vehicle before the shooting.
