Bicyclist with pistol arrested in central Fresno

A gang member armed with a .25 caliber pistol was arrested by Fresno police Wednesday night after he was seen riding a bicycle without lights near Manchester Center.

Sgt. Diana M. Trueba said Phillip Jimenez, 34, a Dog Life Gangster Bulldog, attempted to avoid contact with officers by riding through the shopping center and refused to follow officers’ instructions.

Officers found the pistol, with obliterated serial numbers, in Jimenez’ back pocket. He was booked into Fresno County Jail on weapons charges.
