Man dead, woman critical after Tulare County shootings

A man is dead and a woman in critical condition after both were shot Tuesday night in the Ivanhoe area, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies went to the 15800 block of Avenue 327 about 11:30 p.m., joining Woodlake police, who discovered a female victim who had been shot, a spokesman said.

Deputies then heard heard a gunshot nearby and called in other officers to surround the area.

A SWAT team found a man dead of a gunshot wound about 3 a.m. Wednesday. A sheriff’s spokesman said no law enforcement officer fired their weapons during the incident.

The homicide and the shooting are under investigation.
