Police investigate shooting near Peach and Olive

Fresno police are investigating the shooting of a 26-year-old man late Tuesday morning in east-central Fresno.

Lt. Joe Gomez said officers were sent to the 1200 block of North Peach Avenue about 11:47 a.m., where about 10 shots had been fired.

Minutes later, the victim arrived at Community Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his leg. The victim was not cooperative and said he was shot by someone he did not know. A black Lexus that brought him to the hospital was also hit by gunfire.

Gomez said an apartment was hit by bullets, but no one inside was injured. Police are checking reports that a black sedan, a Toyota or Ford, was involved in the shooting.
