Parlier gang members arrested in Fresno after allegedly brandishing gun near school
Three gang members from Parlier were arrested by Fresno police Friday after they allegedly brandished a gun while driving by a northwest Fresno high school, police said.
A motorist called police around 3 p.m. to report someone pointing a firearm toward Bullard High School from the driver’s side window of a car as it traveled on Palm Avenue, Sgt. Paul Cervantes said.
Police pulled over and detained the driver, Nathan Hernandez, 30, and two other occupants after the eyewitness provided a detailed description of the vehicle and license plate.
Officers found a loaded handgun underneath the passenger’s seat area and a live cartridge on the driver’s side floorboard, Cervantes said.
The driver and the two occupants, 22-year-old Samuel Alvarez and 31-year-old Vincent Alvarez, were arrested for a variety of weapons offenses and gang enhancements.
The Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium went to Hernandez’s home in Parlier to serve a search warrant. Another firearm was found inside and was seized by officers, Cervantes said.
Hernandez will face additional charges for possession of another firearm, Cervantes said.
