Police: Man shot in northwest Fresno
Police are investigating a shooting early Monday in northwest Fresno in which a man was hit multiple times.
Police said the 32-year-old victim was found about 12:30 a.m. at Feland and Alamos avenues. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and his wounds weren’t life-threatening.
Police believe the victim was either driving or riding in a car on Feland from Fairmont Avenue when shots were fired. The car hit two parked cars before it stopped on Alamos. Officers say when they arrived, the victim was being assisted by a self-admitted gang member who was extremely intoxicated. Officers could not determine whether either man was driving the car. The gang member was charged with public intoxication.
Police found shell casings and bullets on the street and believe occupants of the car and another vehicle exchanged gunfire. The car was impounded. The other vehicle was gone.
Police said the gang member would not provide information about the shooting.
