Northwest Fresno shooting related to two previous incidents

A shooting Saturday night in northwest Fresno left a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the right thigh.

Fresno officers responding at 10:20 p.m. to the 3400 block of North Brawley Avenue learned that one of the two female witnesses to Saturday’s shooting was the victim of a shooting Friday, when she was shot through the wrist during a vigil for her two brothers. Those men, Willie Ford, 19, and Denzel Ford, 18, were killed Thursday when another man allegedly shot them on San Pablo Avenue. Police arrested Domenek Greenberry, 19, on suspicion of shooting the men. Detectives said the Thursday shooting might be gang related.

The witnesses to Saturday’s shooting told police they were sitting in a vehicle talking when the suspect vehicle pulled up and parked east of them in the parking lot. The victim got out of the car to see who they were. They heard a shot and the suspect vehicle backed up and drove south on Brawley.

The vehicle is described as a silver SUV, possibly an Infinity or Lexus. There were four men inside.

The victim said he doesn’t know who the suspects were and couldn’t identify them.

Officers searched the area but didn’t find anyone.

Police said Saturday night that the victim was in stable condition at Community Regional Medical Center.
