Three people were injured in a shooting Saturday at a Fourth of July gathering in southeast Fresno, including one who was in critical but stable condition, police said. The two other victims had injuries that were not life-threatening.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. near Hamilton and Chestnut avenues.

Someone drove by and shot the three adults, Fresno police Lt. Phil Cooley said. No additional information was immediately available about the shooting victims.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as dark and possibly occupied by two adults, Cooley said.

It’s not known if the shooting is gang-related, Cooley said.
