Police in Hanford found a man slumped over the steering wheel of a still-running vehicle and say the victim was killed in a gang-related homicide.
About 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, police were sent to the area of Centennial Park on Hanford-Armona Road to check on a report of shots fired. When they got there, witnesses directed them to a silver Lincoln Navigator on Bengston Avenue.
Slumped over the wheel was Camilo Moreno Jr., 27. He was dead and had been shot, police said. The vehicle was still running.
Detectives are investigating the murder as gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-585-2540.

The murder happened shortly after shots were reported several blocks away in the 700 block of South Phillips Street, but police say they don’t know if the incidents were related.
In the Phillips Street incident, police found shell casings in the road and a light blue Chevrolet Venture mini-van with shattered windows. Two black males in dark clothing were seen leaving the area, but their involvement is not known.
