Reedley accountant and firm disciplined by state board

A Reedley accountant and firm were disciplined by the California Board of Accountancy for practicing with an expired and invalid CPA license.

Kelly Max Sanborn and Sanborn and Sanborn Accountancy Corporation also were disciplined for not providing or notifying the board about a failed Peer Review Report, a systematic review of a firm’s accounting and auditing services.

Sanborn and the firm received three years probation. They are required to take continuing education courses in ethics, accounting and auditing, must reimburse the board for investigation costs and must pay an administrative penalty.
