Want to get rid of old tires? You can do that Saturday in Fresno
Fresno residents who wish to dispose of unwanted tires: Saturday is your day.
The city Code Enforcement Division and the Fresno EOC Local Conservation Corps Recycling Program are holding a Waste Tire Amnesty Day on April 23 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Fresno Chandler Executive Airport, 510 W. Kearney Blvd.
Only Fresno residents can participate. People wanting to dump tires must provide proof of residence by showing the event mailer, a driver’s license or utility bill.
Tires with rims will be accepted, but tractor or diesel tires as well as business-generated tires will not be permitted, the city said. Each resident is limited to nine tires per vehicle entering the dump site.
The event is possible through a grant provided by CalRecycle, the city said. All tires will be delivered to a recycling plant.
