Body found at Balch Camp on Sunday

A man’s body was found Sunday at Balch Camp in the Sierra foothills above Pine Flat Lake, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

Lt. Rick Ko said he couldn’t release the man’s name until the coroner’s office identified the body.

But someone who said he’s a grandchild of Rodney Kemp posted on the Fresno Police Department’s Facebook page that the body was Kemp’s, who had been missing since Nov. 18.

According to the missing adult poster distributed by police, Kemp, 59, of Fresno, had liver and lung issues and required the use of oxygen. He last talked to his daughter on Nov. 17, police said.
