Caltrans allocates $561 million to 125 transportation projects
In an effort to rebuild and maintain California’s infrastructure, the California Transportation Commission has allocated $561 million to 125 transportation projects.
The project awards include $20.8 million to widen Highway 99 in the Visalia area from four lanes to six.
The projects will include $34,000 to install traffic signals at the intersection of Thorne and Clinton avenues in Fresno.
Fresno will also receive $32,000 for the Butler Avenue Bicycle Lane project which includes restriping Butler Avenue between Hazelwood and Peach avenues to create a Class II Bike Lane.
Mendota will receive $229,000 for Mendota Elementary pedestrian improvements.
In Tulare County, the projects include $379,000 for a sidewalk and school bus pullout on Road 204 in Tooleville, $397,000 to design and build new sidewalk, curb and gutter on Avenue 94 in Terra Bella, and $245,000 for sidewalks, ramps, striping and signage on Caste Rock Street in Woodlake.
