Fresno Chaffee Zoo sloth bear euthanized
Daisy, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo’s female sloth bear, was euthanized Monday after her health declined for several weeks.
A necropsy revealed severe liver cancer and many tumors. Zoo spokeswoman Ciara Norton said this is a common illness among sloth bears.
Daisy, 18, shared her exhibit with a male sloth bear, Rajani.
